Birthplace: New York, NY
Nationality: American
Family History: Only child; raised by both his parents, Thomas and Naomi Crowe.
Life History: Kyle grew up in Queens, New York City, NY. He was close to both his parents, though he had perhaps more attachment to his father, and had many friends both in and out of school. His childhood was largely unremarkable, save for an incident when he was nine years old: there was a fire in his apartment building, and he was hospitalized for burns afterwards.
He seemed normal during his early teens, though perhaps not as close to his parents as he'd once been; it was accepted by his family as a natural part of growing up. Kyle was friendly and social at school, participating in several sports teams and excelling at track, but he only became close to one or two friends, preferring to keep his emotional distance with most classmates.
As he grew older, it became clear that the distance that had grown between Kyle and his parents was not simply teenage rebelliousness. Thomas's work frequently kept him away from home, and Kyle stopped acknowledging his father's presence completely. He began to insist his father had died in an accident some time ago; the year and date the supposed "accident" had happened were consistent with the apartment fire Kyle himself had been caught in.
Kyle also exhibited a loss of interest in his old hobbies; at first he would skip practice on days that he wasn't interested, and eventually he dropped out of all his extracurricular activities altogether. He gained a strong interest in magic in a search for something unique and extraordinary to define him. This interest in magic was extended to his delusions about his father, whom he'd admired; he began to believe that Thomas was not a police detective, but instead had been a world-famous magician.
The full extent of his imaginings was not apparent until his later teens, when he was caught stealing. Earlier that year, he had quietly begun to believe that not only had his father been a world-famous magician, but he'd led a double life as a world-famous thief… a career path that Kyle was determined to follow to "avenge" his father's "murder."
No doubt inspired by the stories about Arsène Lupin of which he had been a fan, Kyle had sent a notification of theft beforehand, so the damage done was relatively minor. Rather than having charges pressed against him for the attempted theft, Kyle was sent to Landel's Institute.
Medical History: At age 9, hospitalized and treated for minor burns; burns healed with no scarring or infection; he was released from the hospital after five days. By 15, showed signs of delusions and personality changes; showed sporadic disinterest in previous hobbies and took up new ones; isolated himself from his family. His condition has gained severity since.
Kyle was admitted to Landel's Institute by his parents at the recommendation of the authorities after committing theft.
Current Status: Kyle's condition has not shown any signs of improvement. He has been cooperative in his two sessions with Dr. Wilson, and has demonstrated a willingness to discuss his condition. No complaints have been logged regarding his behavior.
Working Diagnosis: Multiple personality disorder
